Grant Process Snapshot

Geographic Focus: Grants will support causes located in and/or serving citizens of Atlantic, Burlington, Cape May, Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester, Salem, and Ocean Counties in New Jersey. 
   
Eligibility Applicants for the Family Stability and Social Equity grants must be a nonprofit that has been in existence for at least three years with:
  • Active 501(c)3 status;
  • An operating income of at least $150,000 for the last two years; and     
  • At least one (1) full time equivalent staff person employed with the organization.
   
Application Deadline:  Applications must be delivered on USB drive or CD OR emailed to info@communityfoundationsj.org by 5 p.m., July 2, 2010.
   
Grant Range:
Minimum of $5,000 general operating grant for the program as described in the application.  Applicants do not need to state a requested amount.  However, typical grants could be between $5000 and $10,000 range.
   
Review Process:      
 The review team consists of staff and members of the Grant Investment Advisory Committee.  The committee will have representatives from across the South Jersey region.  A staff person or a member of the committee may contact applicants for additional information about a proposal. In completing their review, staff or committee members may also contact other funders, community leaders or local agencies to learn more about the work of organization applying for funds and to discuss the plans outlined. Hence, copies of proposals submitted to the Foundation may be shared with others during and subsequent to the review process.
   
Award Notification:  
First week of October.
