Preston Pinkett, III
In September 2007, Preston Pinkett III joined Prudential as Vice President, Social Investments. In this capacity, Mr. Pinkett leads Prudential’s efforts to provide “social” capital to support the creation of healthy, sustainable communities. Prudential currently has a portfolio of more than $400 million.
Prior to Prudential, Mr. Pinkett was the Senior Vice President for the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA). In this position, he managed all EDA funding and development programs to spur economic development in New Jersey.
Mr. Pinkett joined the EDA in 2003 after serving for nearly eight years as a Senior Vice President for PNC Bank where he formed and managed PNC’s Development Bank, a network of 25 retail branches serving distressed urban communities throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and was responsible for all community development investment and lending activity.
Mr. Pinkett serves as an officer of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, Montclair State University, and University Ventures. He is also a Board member of Newark Museum, New Jersey School Development Authority, Council of NJ Grant Makers, and CityWorks.
He received a B.S. degree with a major in economics from Cornell and an M.B.A. degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
