Andy Fraizer Hired As New CFSJ Executive Director

The Board of Directors of Community Foundation of South Jersey (CFSJ) is pleased to announce that Anthony “Andy” Fraizer will become the organization’s new Executive Director effective March 19, 2018.  Fraizer will fill the position previously held by Sidney Hargro who left in July 2017 to become Executive Director for the Philanthropy Network of Greater Philadelphia.

Fraizer, a native of Indiana, comes to CFSJ after serving as Executive Director of Prosperity Indiana for 10 years.  As a community economic development intermediary, Prosperity Indiana supports a network of organizations in developing comprehensive solutions that engage local leadership to generate private and public investment.  Prosperity Indiana members are nonprofit organizations working alongside partners in government and private enterprise to build vital communities and support resilient families.  The organization’s services include consulting, training, grant making, public policy advocacy, and networking to achieve its mission.  Fraizer previously worked as Director of Community Development and Assistant Controller for the City of Indianapolis.

Fraizer received his BA (’98) in Political Science and Social Studies Education from Indiana State University and an MPA in Public Management from Indiana University-Indianapolis (’05).  Fraizer was a Fannie Mae Fellow in the Senior Executives in State and Local Government program and graduate of the Achieving Excellence Executive Education program at the Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government.  Fraizer is also a Byron Fellow, a community of leaders with a vision to create a renaissance in the health of human and natural communities.  He is an active volunteer who has served on several local and national Boards, including the National Alliance of Community Economic Development Associations, for which he is currently treasurer.

“After a national search, and considering many national and local candidates, we are certain that Andy’s qualifications and experience combine well to meet the needs of our growing foundation,” said CFSJ Board Chair John C. Connell.  “We’ve come a long way since 2009, when Ford Foundation provided seed money to launch Community Foundation of South Jersey.  We are confident Andy’s strong community focus will greatly expand CFSJ’s ability to create impactful, local change driven by increased philanthropic investment.”
