Appel Farm Arts & Music Center’s vision to “Transform Lives through the Arts” offers diverse arts education and community programming built around its founders’ beliefs that the arts play a crucial role in fostering learning skills; contribute to personal growth and sense of identity; and, are beneficial to individuals and communities.
Appel Farm has made great strides in growing programs like the Creative Connections program (school outreach programs), HeART & Health (social service programs), Arts Lab (a 10-week series of after-school programs for local school children), Summer Arts Camp Program (overnight, multi-week residential arts instruction), curricular partnerships with school districts like Salem County Vo-Tech Arts Academies, Pleasantville, and Bridgeton Public Schools “Pathways: 21st Century Community Learning Center”, as well as creating new programs such as The Citizenship School at Appel Farm (an arts based overnight leadership experience for grades 6-8), the Crafty Campout and Journey Jamboree (Girl Scout retreats highlighting the arts), and Creating Families (a program in partnership with the Family Engagement Network providing at-risk Salem County families with arts based programming, developing healthy relationships and child well-being). Additional new large-scale community programs include Earth Day: A Family Arts Celebration at Appel Farm, and the fall Music & Wine Festival.
