Clarifi

Prospectus

Clarifi provides education programs for low-to-moderate income populations seeking to increase their financial knowledge to become well-informed consumers in a complex marketplace.

Clarifi’s mission is to create hope by helping people identify and secure the most important assets in their lives. The agency’s services have evolved since their founding in 1966, from a focus on budget and credit counseling into a comprehensive model of financial capability through a continuum of financial literacy programs and services that address current financial trends like student loan repayment and small dollar credit. Clarifi’s envisioned future is where everyone will have affordable access to the intellectual and technological resources required to comprehend and master the financial aspects of their lives. Clarifi’s programs and services support the Delaware Valley, including Southern New Jersey.

Education programming includes workshops on personal finance topics including budgeting and money management; credit and credit reports; preparing for homeownership; saving and asset building; and avoiding predatory lending and identity theft. Clarifi also provides one-on-one counseling that addresses personal finance topics to help clients improve or maintain financial health. Counseling topics include budgeting, credit reports, debt repayment, bankruptcy, and housing (including pre-purchase counseling, foreclosure prevention, and reverse mortgages). Clients set realistic goals for financial improvement and receive an individualized Action Plan that helps them on their path to financial stability.

Over the past five decades, Clarifi has grown to become the regional leader in helping individuals improve financial literacy, capability and stability. Their workshops and counseling help clients create and maintain budgets; understand and improve their credit; make informed decisions about personal and financial milestones; overcome burdensome debts; and save their homes from foreclosure. Over the history of the organization, Clarifi has assisted nearly 700,000 individuals in support of their mission.
