Perkins Center for the Arts
Perkins Center for the Arts has been using the arts to build stronger South Jersey communities since 1977.
Perkins Center for the Arts’ impact has been far reaching by focusing on “making a better South Jersey” through facilitating experiential arts and cultural programs; diversifying audiences by eliminating barriers to the arts; and supporting artists and musicians in their careers. These programs and services contribute to improving the quality of life in South Jersey communities and endeavor to facilitate meaningful experiences through the arts, enrich lives, and inspire learning, collaboration, interdisciplinary & intercultural experiences.
Our Mission, Vision and Values guide us in providing fee-based and free programs and services to a wide and diverse audience; supporting the belief that quality arts experiences have the power to transform lives and bring about positive change. We are committed to building vibrant communities in NJ through:
- Exposure to and education about the arts via experiential arts and cultural programs in our two locations, NJ schools, and NJ communities;
- Diversify audiences through eliminating barriers to the arts through free and low tuition classes, scholarships, free and reduced fee school programs, and free community programming;
- Supporting artists through offering low cost working space, exhibition/performance opportunities, employment, and professional development.
