Rowan University Foundation

Prospectus

Rowan University is a regional center for education, business, science/technology, and the arts/humanities, offering outstanding educational experience at an exceptional cost.

Founded in 1912, and now a leading, selective, medium-sized public state comprehensive research institution, Rowan University combines liberal education with professional preparation from the baccalaureate through the doctorate.  Rowan provides a collaborative, learning-centered environment in which highly-qualified and diverse faculty, staff and students integrate teaching, research, scholarship, creative activity, and community service.  Through intellectual, social, and cultural contributions, Rowan enriches the lives of those in the campus community and surrounding region.

Currently the university is home to approximately 16,000 students in 74 bachelor’s degree programs, 51 master’s degree programs, four doctoral programs, and two professional programs.  While it has three campuses in New Jersey in Glassboro (main Campus), Camden, and Stratford (School of Osteopathic Medicine), courses are also offered on-site at area community colleges as well as online.  Rowan’s mission of providing an accessible, quality education at an affordable rate is evidenced in it consistently ranking in the top 3 (out of 950+ rated institutions) in the past 3 years of the Social Mobility Index, measuring the extent to which a university educates more economically-disadvantaged people at a lower tuition who graduate into well-paying jobs so as to maximize their return on investment.  Its mission to serve as an economic engine for the South Jersey region is demonstrated by its annual injection of more than $1.23 billion into the statewide economy and more than $108 million into Glassboro’s economy.
