Getting Started

Establishing a charitable fund at the Community Foundation is quick and easy. 

In most cases, funds can be opened in as little as 48 hours.

Steps

1. Review the Agency Fund options, which include fee information and ensure they align with your organization's capacity and goals.
2. Our staff will prepare a customized draft fund agreement for your organization to review, and we can discuss the different ways to provide an opening gift, such as cash, stock or other assets.
3. Contribute an initial gift to your fund (minimum of $25,000)
4. Complete an Investment Options Recommendation form to indicate how you would like the funds to be managed.
5. Once established, the Foundation takes care of the rest, overseeing the administrative details including investment management. Our staff is available to provide guidance on planned giving strategies and accepting complex gifts.
