John Connell, Immediate Past President of CFSJ Board, Recognized As Trustee of the Year

John Connell, Esq., immediate past President of the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of South Jersey (CFSJ) has been recognized as Trustee of the Year by the Nonprofit Development Center of Southern New Jersey (NPDCSJ).  The awards program strives to build a better region by recognizing South Jersey’s nonprofit leadership. 

John is an attorney with Archer based in Haddonfield, New Jersey. In his professional work he practices civil litigation as first-chair trial attorney in jury and bench trials and appeals in State and federal courts. Mr. Connell’s clients range from Fortune 100 companies to individuals in an array of complex commercial, employment, civil rights, communications law, health care and intellectual property matters. 

In recognition of the Trustee of the Year honor, CFSJ Executive Director Andy Fraizer said, “John demonstrates leadership for our Foundation through his passion for philanthropy, robust knowledge of governance, depth of relationships in the region and ever-present commitment.”

Joseph Tredinnick, Republic Bank Market President and current CFSJ Board President, nominated Connell. He added, “John is a tireless advocate and increases public awareness of the role of philanthropy in championing community, harnessing opportunities and meeting local needs.  CFSJ has benefitted greatly from his ability to analyze and define issues and bring them to a successful conclusion.”

The Nonprofit Development Center of Southern New Jersey was founded with the goal of increasing donors’ “social return on investment” and to stimulate new sources of philanthropy in this region.  NPDC executes this mission by providing opportunities for enhancing the work of Southern New Jersey nonprofits and their leaders through technical assistance, information-sharing, education, networking, and recognition and celebrations of success.
